Between pyro smoke, spilled beer, pouring rain, and the absolute chaos of the stands, your supporter gear goes through a lot on matchday. To keep your crew's colors looking sharp and bold for years, you need to treat your equipment right. As a direct European manufacturer of ultras products, Ultrasshop uses premium materials that are built to last. However, proper washing and storage will significantly extend the life of your football scarves, stadium flags, and ultras clothing. Here is our official product care guide.
Washing Ultras Clothing and Balaclavas
Whether you are rocking a heavy cotton hoodie, a classic crewneck, or a moisture-wicking printed balaclava, the rules of the wash remain the same. To protect the fabric and keep your custom CMYK prints looking fresh:
- Wash Inside Out: Always turn your T-shirts, sweatshirts, and printed balaclavas inside out before throwing them in the machine. This protects the prints from friction against the drum and other clothes.
- Keep it Cool: Wash at 30°C (cold wash). High temperatures can damage both the cotton blend structure and the printed graphics.
- Skip the Tumble Dryer: Hang your supporter clothing to dry naturally. Tumble drying is the fastest way to crack a perfect print and shrink your gear.
How to Clean Football Scarves
Your scarf is your identity. Since we produce two entirely different types of custom football scarves, they require slightly different care:
- HD Knitted Scarves: Made from high-quality acrylic yarn, these are thick and durable. Wash them on a gentle or wool cycle at a maximum of 30°C. Do not wring them out aggressively; lay them flat to dry so they maintain their shape and the classic tassels stay neat.
- Printed Silk Scarves: Produced from smooth polyester, these feature highly detailed prints. A gentle cold wash is enough to remove stadium dirt. Never iron directly on the printed graphic to avoid melting the vibrant colors.
Storing Stadium Flags and Tifo Materials
When the match is over, do not just throw your stadium flags into a damp bag and forget about them until the next away day. Proper storage prevents mold, bad odors, and fabric degradation.
- Dry Completely: This is the most important rule. Never fold and store a wet sector flag or stick flag. Hang the 110 g/m² or 60 g/m² polyester fabric until it is 100% dry.
- Fold Neatly: Fold large block flags carefully to avoid deep, permanent creases in the fabric.
- Separate Hardware: Always remove your 20 mm PVC flag poles before storing the fabric. Store the sticks in a dry place where they will not be crushed or bent under heavy equipment.
Frequently Asked Questions
How should we store a massive sector flag?
After a tifo display, make sure the massive 3-meter wide fabric panels are completely dry. Fold the sector flag in a clean environment, preferably rolling it or folding it loosely. Store it in a breathable bag in a dry room to prevent moisture buildup and mold.
Can I iron my printed ultras clothing?
You can iron your 100% cotton or cotton-blend supporter shirts, but you must always iron them inside out. Never apply a hot iron directly onto the printed slogans or crests, as the heat will melt and ruin the graphic.
How to wash a sewn cotton balaclava?
Our sewn balaclavas are made from a premium 95% cotton and 5% elastane blend. Wash them at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Because of the elastane, avoid using bleach or boiling water, as this will destroy the stretchable universal fit.
Does rain damage my printed stadium flags?
No. Our custom stadium flags and tifo materials are printed with high-quality, weather-resistant inks designed for outdoor use. Rain will not wash the colors away, but you must dry the flag properly after the match before packing it away.
